Poitiers, un samedi matin

Elaine and I did some shopping this AM at the local farmers’ market. I picked up some fresh tomatoes and apple juice, while Elaine did much more damage. I also witnessed an unidentifiable animal being butchered - guts spilling out and all - just in time for Halloween…. Speaking of which, they finally have pumpkins! But not the typical carving type.

It started drizzling as we wandered in search of Poitiers’ munchkin-sized Statue of Liberty.

Found it. What’s up with that flame?

Then I helped a little old lady get butter off of a high shelf at Monoprix. My good deed for the day.

All this and I was home before noon. Not knowing what to do with myself, I napped. Naturally.

It’s nice to take advantage of what Poitiers has to offer while I can, seeing as I won’t be around here for a good deal of November. October, where have you gone?
