This blog shall document my semester abroad, beginning 28 August 2011.
Welcome to Poitiers.
STRESSED «-» DESSERTS
I haven’t felt tense or stressed one bit since I’ve been here, except today. This one class, quantitative research methods, is just insane in terms of the amount of work they expect out of us. I mean group work ate my weekend, and I was in class before the sun was up this morning. That is partially due to the strange one-time-zone-phenomenon thing that goes on here in Europe, but, details. Anyway, after almost 10 hours of class, I was bursting at the seams and went for a therapeutic shop at the Prix. Bought some tea and fresh basil and other necessities, and walked home in the drizzle, huddled under my North Face.
I’ve got a massive trip planned - well, mostly planned. I leave in just over a week! Details to come. I’m really looking forward to exploring more cities, more countries, picking up some awesome keepsakes and being able to share the experiences with all my friends and family. I’m just about over the mid-way hump now, and I know it’s going to be a blur from here on out.
Oh, and did you know stressed spelled backwards is desserts?? Tomorrow I’m totally going back to the Prix to stock up on some baking essentials. I’m not afraid to show my face there 6 out of 7 days a week…… Because ya know, markets are closed Sundays….
